Christmas For Dogs
When it comes to Christmas gifts for dogs, this year being no different, the pet business rolls out a few doozies. Some can be humorous, but others are just plain strange . Here are the 10 Worst Dog Christmas Gift Ideas:
1.Dog clothing. Okay, some pooches are clowns and don’t mind wearing clothing but by and large, most dogs do not like to wear clothes. They don’t like shoes, sweaters, costumes, hats, goggles, or anything that they weren’t born wearing.
2. Pet memorial stones. Your dog will certainly not enjoy or appreciate a memorial stone or marker purchased before the day actually comes , although yes, it is true that your dog is going to die someday.
3. Pet’s Eye View. This little device hangs around your dog’s neck and takes pictures during the day so you can see what they’re up to when you’re away. Simply set the digital camera to take a photo every 1, 5 or 15 minutes and review the images when you get home. Unfortunately, you’re probably in for a snooze since your dog probably sleeps all day, and besides, isn’t your dog entitled to a few secrets? Not to mention they probably don’t want a camera swinging from their collar.
4. Humunga Stache Durable Dog Toy. The attached mustache is positioned on their face to make it look like your dog has a mustache when it holds the ball in its mouth. This is foolish and your dog would probably just prefer a good old ball.
5. Fab Furcedes Pet Bed. While we’re not against pet beds at all, this one is just a bit over the top silly . Your dog’s posh little sports car bed will end up looking like a distorted VW Bug with one toss in the washer and dryer, making it an impractical gift.
6. The Pin-Up Doggie Diva Wig. Wigs are a bit creepy, and we’ve never met a dog that enjoys doning one. These bizarre little wigs range from ‘normal’ brown to a spiky fluorescent green. Such humiliation should not have to be suffered by any dog.
7. Charms that hang from their collar. Dog collar charms are made by a number of manufacturers like Bling-tastic and Rock of Love. Most dogs do not like to wear a collar, so adding ‘bling’ only weighs them down and adds noise to their every movement. This is not enjoyable for anyone.
8. A tote bag. Your dog adores being with you, but doesn’t necessarily like being stuffed into a bag. If you want a tote to carry your dog around in, buy it for yourself and get your dog a new toy or a bone to gnaw on – that’s what they really like.
9. Grooming supplies. Dogs are just not very interested in their grooming, whether they are young or old, big or small. Keep their ears and wrinkles cleaned, their nails trimmed for health reasons, and of course you want them to smell good enough to snuggle , but buying them grooming supplies as Christmas gifts is like buying your child a pair of fingernail clippers or shampoo. They are not interested in that, they only want something fun.
10. Anything electric. A fence or an electric collar only represent limitations and punishment . This is never fun and certainly not a good holiday present .
