- A male ferret is called a Hob where as a female ferret is called a Jill. Baby ferrets are known as Kits (or kittens).

- Ferrets have an average length of roughly 20 inches. However Hobs (Males) can be twice as big as Jills (Females).
- Like Tigers ferrets are carnivores. Ferrets eat 95% protein and shouldn’t be fed much fibre!
- Warning! Do do not try this at home: Ferret Legging was a distant Pub game played in England. Each man fastens their trousers tightly aroung his ankles and at his waist with a ferret inside of them. The man would almost certainly be repeatedly bitten. The one who lastest the most time with the ferret down their was the winner!
- They may have poor vision, but they have fantastic smelling and hearing abilities.
- Ferrets are called Mustela Putorius Furo in Latin. See if you can remember that in a day or so!
- Ferret litters will typically produce around seven babies, although can rise to twelve on occasion! Now that’s a lot of Kits!
- A ferret can live for eight years or more! So you should enjoy a good number of years with your ferrets!
- It’s thought that ferrets came from North Africa and have been domestic for nearly 2000 years!
- The 1200′s bought the inclusion of a ferreter into the Royal Court of England. In fact it become the fashion for high ranking clergymen to own ferrets!

- Bathing a ferret too much actually makes them smell worse! This may also dry out the oils from the fur and irritate their skin!
