If Your Cat Lives Indoors He Needs A Fine Cat Tree
July 15th, 2010 by admin

Children and all members of the family will appreciate having a cat for a pet. They are friendly and affectionate and happily sit on your children’s lap in the evening purring happily.

There is however a growing trend towards keeping cats indoors all day and all night, primarily because cats are excellent hunters, particularly at night but also during the day, and can terrorise all the native wildlife in the neighbourhood.

Cats can do serious damage to small native animals which are normally active at night.

Experts now recommend that if you have a pet cat you keep him indoors at night always, and suggest that it is even better to keep him indoors during the day as well.

And I support that, but it’s also important to understand that cats are extremely active and it’s very important that they be able to climb, to run and to play.

If one day you have a little spare time go outside and watch your cat playing and climbing trees. You won’t believe how well and how fast a cat can climb a tree.

So if you’re planning to keep your cat indoors it’s important that you cater to these natural instincts in him to run, jump, play and climb. Because by keeping him indoors you will be taking away all his opportunities to do so, and so you need to find a way to replace the opportunities for him to do what cats do.

Fortunately there is some wonderful cat furniture available which does this job for you. Cat furniture is dedicated furniture for cats, the purpose of which is to providing him with all the opportunities to play that he would have had outside. You can find cat trees, cat towers , cat gyms and more, all for your favourite feline to play on.

A cat tree is a strange looking device with things bolted on to it and sticking out of it all over the place, all designed to give your cat a fine place to play, to climb, to sleep or just lie around as cats do. Cat play is a big part of the life of a cat.

And on top of that there is another purpose for cat trees. Most cat owners find that their animals love to scratch and it’s almost impossible to stop, resulting in major damage to the furniture in some cases. But get your cat a dedicated cat tree, teach him how to scratch on it and your furniture will be safe thereafter.

So if you’re considering keeping your favourite feline in the house do him a favour. Buy him a tree so that all those things that have been taken away from him such as climbing are once again available, and watch him come to life on his new cat tree.
